Semana de la Raza

This week La Raza Cultural Days celebrates its four decades with the theme “Celebrating Our Past, Cultivating Our Future, 40 Years of Unity.”

The campus is invited to take time between April 27 and May 2 to attend the many workshops and performances that UC Davis students have organized to celebrate this diverse group during Semana de la Raza (“Week of the People.”)

From thoughtful talks on the immigrant student experience and “Cutting Calories From Cultural Cuisine” to discussing the death penalty and prison system, the week’s offerings promise to challenge conventional thinking and habits.

Those educational opportunities are balanced with fun, such as “Latin Dance 101,” poetry and art.

To find the times and places as well as to learn more about the week go to the La Raza Cultural Days site.
