Black Family Week

2009 has been a year of redefinition for African-America. This year’s Black Family Week builds upon that, as the annual event celebrates “Redefining Excellence” from May 11 to May 16.

Take time to visit panels, seminars, and socials centered on the inspirational theme of this year’s event. The week also gives the university and the greater community a chance to interact with the UC Davis’s African American students and faculty and learn more about their cultures.

Two major events to check out are the Ebony Ball on May 15, a night of elegance that honors African American achievements on campus, and Black Family Day on May 16.

Black Family Day features a festival of African and African American themed live music, dance, food, and educational booths.
